On 16 January 2004.THe Straits Times released the news,Singapore-made car to compete in May in the USA.This car took seven months to build.It can reach 100km/h in 4.2 secongs and has a maximum speed of 140km/h.Although Singapore does not manufacture cars.We are still capable of coming up with one that Singaporeans are capable of innovation and are pushing ourselves beyond expectations.I hope that i can oso contribute my talents and energies in such exciting ways.

Changi Prison was opened on 4 January 1937.It has historical
signifiance and heritage.Althought the goverment decided to
redevelop Changi Prison,it has preserved certain parts of it for
their historical value.I feel that after the redevelopment of Changi
Prison,it will have even better security than before,and better
rehabillitation facillities for prisoners.Having a prison like that will
keep crimnals at bay,making Singapore a very safe country where
we can walk the streets without fearing from our safety.

On this day in 2004,newspapers reported that the Singapore Sports School took in its first batch of 140 students pursing their sporting interests.THe school will help groom Singapore's future international sporting champions.This School will not only provide world-class training in sports,it will also offer talented students a precious balance between spots and studies.Located at 1 Champions Ways,the school has two all-weather Olympic-sized pools,a 700 seats indoor muti-sports auditorium classroom,training centre and running track.I am happy and proud that young people now have more opportunties to delvop their talent in sports,I believe these students will train hard to win international championships and do Singapore proud.

On this day in 1999,my birthday,i read in the newspaper that six cinema vchairs in Singapore reduced the price of movie tickets on Tuesday from $7 to $5.This reduction was made after attendance in cinemas fell due to the recession and the cheap prices of pirated VCDS.This move enabled people affected by the recession to enjoy movies at a good price and also help control illegal VCD sales.
